The third (and optionally integrated) sector of the services provided by ELA encompasses music publishing and copyright administration. Although ELA will generally be engaged both to procure, advise upon and negotiate music publishing contracts with third party music publishers of all types and magnitude, ELA is often itself engaged - through its worldwide affiliations with both 'major' and independent music publishers - to sub-publish and administer clients' musical copyrights; both in the short-term and in the long-term. Again, the
emphasis is on maximising the commercial value of individual copyrights and or entire catalogues by means of procuring both the most favourable contracts and the most efficient administration.
The services offered by ELA Music include :
Worldwide publishing and copyright administration.
Specialist advice relating to the registration and exploitation of Copyrights.
Specialist advice relating to the collection and administration of Royalties.
Specialist advice relating to music publishing contracts of all types.
UK and International Record Company liaison.
UK and International Film, Television and Theatrical company liaison.
UK and International Advertising Agency liaison.
UK and International Deal-Shopping & Contract Brokering.
For the avoidance of doubt, ELA Music's services are not - unless specifically requested / required - offered to Entertainment Law Associates clients or ELA Management clients, in such instances the client's interests being generally best served by ELA procuring direct publishing agreement between the client and a so-called 'major' music publisher. Conversely however, ELA Music clients are again able to gain the de facto free benefit of having ELA's other business
services made available to them as part of ELA's 'one-stop'
philosophy. This, together with ELA Music's competitive publishing and sub- publishing rates, adds up to a package that is likely to be unparalleled in its combination of services and cost-effectiveness.
As with ELA's other activities, ELA Music's in-house functions are enhanced by its worldwide, contractual associations with some of the world's leading music publishers and the international network of
specialists and agents that they employ.
